Softball Recap: Viera Takes a Loss

Viera dropped down to 8-7 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the East Ridge Knights, falling 12-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since April 5, 2025.

As for East Ridge, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

For East Ridge's part, Veronica Peterson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave Peterson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadya Zerfas, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Viera wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Keystone Heights on the 4th. As for East Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 win against Dwyer on the 4th.
