Baseball Recap: Oxnard Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

While Oxnard put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Chatsworth. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 4-0 win over the Chancellors. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Not much got past Diego Ahumada, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Chatsworth off the board. Ahumada also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oxnard is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Oxnard: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Garcia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Oxnard's record now sits at 6-9. As for Chatsworth, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Coming up, Oxnard will head out to square off against Foothill Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chatsworth, they will host Bishop Alemany at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Chancellors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
