Baseball Game Preview: Nauset Regional Warriors vs. Bishop Stang Spartans

The Nauset Regional Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Stang Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nauset Regional has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

On Tuesday, Nauset Regional came up short against Tewksbury Memorial and fell 5-2.

Meanwhile, Bishop Stang posted their closest victory since March 27th on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Bishop Fenwick. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Daniel Delk looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Harry Tingley Prince was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Brock Winslow also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Bishop Stang's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Nauset Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Nauset Regional might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Bishop Stang in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
