Volleyball Recap: St. Charles' Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After flying high against Bishop Hartley on Thursday, St. Charles came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The matchup marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

St. Charles actually scored more points across those five sets (103-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 12-25, 15-13.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Charles fell to 6-1. As for Mt. Vernon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

St. Charles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Vincent-St. Mary on the 5th. As for Mt. Vernon, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against St. Xavier on the 5th.
