Softball Game Preview: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Station Camp Bison

The Springfield Yellow Jackets will face off against the Station Camp Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Station Camp's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Springfield is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clarksville just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Yellow Jackets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Station Camp earned a 6-2 win over Portland on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Morgan Brinkley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Wilson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 20-2-1. As for Station Camp, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.

Springfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Station Camp when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
