Baseball Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

The Arbor View Aggies will head out on the road to square off against the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Arbor View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Arbor View took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Las Vegas, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Arbor View had just enough and edged out Las Vegas 11-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aggies needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Devin Martin was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Austin Long was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Legacy 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Skyler Fife looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shadow Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Rollo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Mason Markowitz also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Arbor View's record is now 8-4. As for Shadow Ridge, their record is now 5-9.

Arbor View suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Arbor View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
