Basketball Recap: Riverside Skates Past Springs Valley with Ease

Riverside came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Springs Valley Blackhawks to the tune of 67-40. The Argonauts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

Riverside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bini Hopper, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Hopper's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Torgrimson, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Riverside pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Springs Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Riverside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-46 victory against Brown County on the 27th. Springs Valley has also already played their next matchup, a 53-51 win against Henryville on the 27th.
