Baseball Game Preview: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Ralston Rams

The Plattsmouth Blue Devils will face off against the Ralston Rams on Tuesday. Plattsmouth's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Plattsmouth's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-0 to Gross Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ralston came out on top against Bellevue East on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Rams took their contest against the Chieftains 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Dallas Whetzal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ralston's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Vandervort, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ralston's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Plattsmouth, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Plattsmouth came out on top in a nail-biter against Ralston when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
