Recap: Jesuit Tigers vs. St. Joseph's Prep Hawks

It was a good run, but the Jesuit Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph's Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Jesuit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nate Boakye, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Boakye's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Moliere, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.

Jesuit's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for St. Joseph's Prep, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jesuit and IMG Academy Blue will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. IMG Academy Blue will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Jesuit is ranked 62nd). St. Joseph's Prep and Archbishop Ryan will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Archbishop Ryan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully St. Joseph's Prep likes a good challenge.
