San Antonio Christian snaps three-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: San Antonio Christian Lions vs. St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds

The San Antonio Christian Lions were the 58-41 winner over the St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds when they last played one another on January 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. San Antonio Christian fell 47-34 to St. Joseph Academy on Saturday.

St. Joseph Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Regina Tovar led the charge by scoring 14 points along with four steals. Tovar is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Seanah Mireles was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.

San Antonio Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6. As for St. Joseph Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Antonio Christian will take on St. Anthony at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Providence Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. Providence Catholic has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
