Basketball Recap: Heide Trask Extends Winning Streak to Four

Heide Trask won the last time they faced Pender and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Heide Trask Titans secured a 60-54 W over the Pender Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Leading Heide Trask to victory were Gio Driggers and Matthias Sonne. Driggers dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds, while Sonne posted 22 points. With that strong performance, Driggers is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Trey Paffenroth, who had two points in addition to eight assists and five steals.

Heide Trask was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pender only racked up nine assists.

Pender lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Hansley, who earned 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Driver, who put up ten points and five boards.

Heide Trask's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Pender, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Heide Trask wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-70 victory against South Columbus on the 7th. Pender has also already played their next contest (against Whiteville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
