Baseball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Pungo Christian Academy lost against Lawrence Academy back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders fell just short of the Lawrence Academy Warriors by a score of 5-4. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Evan Woolard put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Woolard wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carr Eagles, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Eagles has posted since back in April of 2024.

Pungo Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lawrence Academy, their record now sits at 2-4.

While Pungo Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
