Baseball Recap: Lovejoy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lovejoy and Grapevine squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lovejoy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Leopards in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Lovejoy's loss dropped their record down to 31-8. As for Grapevine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 24 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-3 record this season.

Lovejoy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grapevine, they will take on Liberty Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are on a 15-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Panthers a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
