Basketball Recap: Cardinal's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cardinal can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets 64-61. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cardinal's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Cardinal will be home for the holidays to greet Sigourney at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Sigourney's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they will be playing at home against Clarke at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
