Lukas Pena Game Report: vs Chavez

Shafter had to settle for second on Tuesday, but Lukas Pena sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the defeat, Pena was still locked in as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

Even though Pena couldn't lead Shafter over Chavez, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shafter has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since March of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
