Recap: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Clearfield Falcons
The Woods Cross Wildcats were the 47-33 winner over the Clearfield Falcons when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Woods Cross was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 37-36 to Clearfield. Woods Cross has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adia Cook, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Avery Poulton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Leading Clearfield to victory were Xiyah Yarbrough and Isabelle Wyaskett. Yarbrough scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Wyaskett dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Wyaskett is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Woods Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Clearfield, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woods Cross will take on Viewmont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Viewmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Wednesday. As for Clearfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
