Northwest Whitfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Coahulla Creek Colts as they made off with a 35-13 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bruins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gavin Nuckolls had a dynamite game, throwing for 126 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 75 yards and one score on only six carries. Northwest Whitfield also got a significant boost from Gage Parker, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest Whitfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Northwest Whitfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-13 defeat against North Murray on the 22nd.
