Soccer Game Preview: Sheldon vs. South Eugene

The Sheldon Irish will face off against the South Eugene Axe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sheldon's last seven matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sheldon fell victim to Grants Pass and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cavemen by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Sheldon have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, South Eugene came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Black Tornado as they made off with a 6-1 win. The result was nothing new for South Eugene, who have now won four matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-4. As for South Eugene, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2-2.
