Preview: King Abdullah Academy Falcons vs. Trinity Christian Gryphons

The King Abdullah Academy Falcons will stay at home for another game and welcome the Trinity Christian Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. King Abdullah Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.

Even though Christ Chapel Academy scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, King Abdullah Academy still came out on top. King Abdullah Academy walked away with a 67-55 win over Christ Chapel Academy. Given King Abdullah Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Christ Chapel Academy is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adira Ahmed was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anas Drissi, who scored 16 points.

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Trinity Christian, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Christ Chapel Academy by a score of 50-41 on Friday. The victory was just what Trinity Christian needed coming off of a 68-37 defeat in their prior game.

King Abdullah Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

King Abdullah Academy came up short against Trinity Christian when the teams last played back in February, falling 67-63. Can King Abdullah Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
