Basketball Game Preview: Minooka Indians vs. Plainfield Central Wildcats

Minooka is 10-0 against Plainfield Central since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Minooka Indians will be playing at home against the Plainfield Central Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Minooka's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Plainfield Central has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Saturday, Minooka was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to Naperville Central.

Minooka might have lost, but man, Mckenna Delaney was a machine: she went 7 of 16 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Delaney a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Thomas, who posted ten points along with seven assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Minooka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Plainfield Central can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 47-34 win over Aurora East.

Minooka's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Plainfield Central, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.

Minooka took their win against Plainfield Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 62-41. Will Minooka repeat their success, or does Plainfield Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
