Softball Recap: Excelsior Charter Eagles vs. Big Bear Bears
Excelsior Charter won the last time they faced Big Bear and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles walked away with an 11-8 win over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Rylie Hunsaker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Evangeline Archuleta and Tristen Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Archuleta went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
