Softball Recap: Hamilton County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hamilton County can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 back in March.

Colebie Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Hamilton County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kelley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The loss snapped Hamilton County's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 17-16 record. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Hamilton County nor Anna-Jonesboro have any future games scheduled.
