Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Charter Oak

The Wilson Wildcats will challenge the Charter Oak Chargers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wilson's offense. They lost 3-0 to Covina on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Colts are ranked 290th).

Meanwhile, Charter Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of West Covina. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Chargers couldn't quite close it out.

Charter Oak's loss dropped their record down to 1-12-1. As for Wilson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Wilson took their victory against Charter Oak when the teams last played on January 7th by a conclusive 3-0. Does Wilson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Charter Oak turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
