New Trier is a perfect 8-0 against Lane Tech since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trevians will square off against the Champions at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with New Trier sitting on seven straight victories and Lane Tech on eight.

New Trier's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against St. Charles North as they made off with a 6-0 win. New Trier might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lane Tech faced Neuqua Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Champions beat the Wildcats by a goal, winning 1-0. Give Lane Tech's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Jackson Caffey, who's now up to 11 this season.

New Trier pushed their record up to 17-0-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six matchups. As for Lane Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1-2.

New Trier beat Lane Tech 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trevians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
