Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Comes Up Short

If Valley Christian was riding high fresh off their 74-19 takedown of Faith Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valley Christian Lions came up short against the John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills Patriots on Tuesday, falling 83-60. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 20-16 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Valley Christian lost, don't look at James Shevchuck. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Shevchuck is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Jonathan Sandulyuk was another key player, going 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points.

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tucker Hammond, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Ayden Hoover, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
