Baseball Game Preview: Pocahontas County Warriors vs. Bath County Chargers

The Pocahontas County Warriors will head out to face off against the Bath County Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Wednesday, Pocahontas County didn't have quite enough to beat Webster County and fell 2-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pocahontas County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Warren Burns, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Logan Keatley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Bath County lost 16-6 to Highland on Thursday. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

W Campbell and H Kirby stepped up to the plate in a big way. Campbell went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Kirby went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of I Ingram, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Pocahontas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Bath County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Pocahontas County beat Bath County 5-2 in their previous matchup last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
