There's no place like home for Maria Carrillo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Sonoma Valley Dragons 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Landon Diehm, who gave up just four hits to keep Sonoma Valley off the board. The dominant performance also gave Diehm a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Bluestone, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Maria Carrillo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Sonoma Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maria Carrillo will face off against Windsor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Windsor has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sonoma Valley, they will take on Vacaville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
