Softball Recap: Presidio Blue Devils vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets

There's no place like home for Presidio, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Kermit Yellow Jackets on Friday as the Presidio Blue Devils made off with an 11-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Presidio needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Valerie Armendariz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Armendariz has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Armendariz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Luz Soto was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Adriana Armendariz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
