Softball Recap: Caston Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Caston can now relate to. They lost 10-4 to the North Newton Spartans on Tuesday. The Comets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Audrey Ault was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Caston's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for North Newton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Caston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Newton, they will face off against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
