Basketball Game Preview: Gulf Coast HEAT vs. Sarasota Military Academy Eagles

Gulf Coast HEAT are taking a road trip to face off against the Sarasota Military Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf Coast HEAT knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Sarasota Military Academy likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Gulf Coast HEAT took their match with ease, bagging a 78-42 victory over Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-20.

Gulf Coast HEAT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steven Scott, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 20 boards. That's the most rebounds Scott has posted since back in January of 2024. Westin Lacey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine assists.

Gulf Coast HEAT smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Sarasota Military Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Canterbury 71-33.

Gulf Coast HEAT's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Sarasota Military Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Gulf Coast HEAT won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2024, slipping by Sarasota Military Academy 59-58. Will Gulf Coast HEAT repeat their success, or does Sarasota Military Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
