Football Recap: Claremore Skates Past Nathan Hale with Ease

Claremore extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They claimed a resounding 61-25 win over the Nathan Hale Rangers. With the Zebras ahead 49-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.

It was another big night for Cecil Garrett, who rushed for 184 yards and five TDs on only nine carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 12 rushing touchdowns on the season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Claremore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

As for Nathan Hale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2. They haven't had much luck with Claremore recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Nathan Hale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Deroin, who threw for 335 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards and two scores. Janih Feeback-Franklin was Deroin's top target, picking up 140 receiving yards and one TD.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claremore will challenge Pryor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Zebras will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Nathan Hale, they will face off against Del City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 870 yards in their previous games.
