St. John Paul II won the last time they faced Sturgis West and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions came out on top against the Navigators by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-8, 19-25, 25-14.

Caitlin McGrail paced St. John Paul II's offense, picking up ten kills. McGrail got some help from Zlata Alioshka and her 27 assists. McGrail also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Eva Matthes, racking up seven apiece.

St. John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sturgis West, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. John Paul II and Sturgis West will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lions will face off against rival Dennis-Yarmouth Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sturgis West is set to take on their familiar foe Sturgis East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
