Recap: Princeton Tigers vs. Green City Gophers

After a string of eight wins, the Princeton Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 61-38 loss at the hands of Green City. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Princeton has scored all season.

Green City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Asher Buggs-Tipton out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Buggs-Tipton has scored at least 25% of Green City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Salas, who scored 16 points along with seven assists.

Princeton's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-1. As for Green City, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Princeton will square off against Penney on Wednesday. Penney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge. Green City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kauffman at 8:00 p.m. on December 19th. Kauffman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Green City is ranked tenth).
