Softball Recap: Academy of the Holy Names Comes Up Short

After flying high against Osceola last Wednesday, Academy of the Holy Names came back down to earth. Academy of the Holy Names took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Royal Knights on Friday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royal Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ava LaBarbera was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Academy of the Holy Names now has a losing record of 5-6. As for River Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of the Holy Names will host Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Berkeley Prep has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for River Ridge, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m.
