Baseball Game Preview: Comstock Colts vs. Decatur Raiders

Comstock hasn't had much luck against Decatur recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Colts will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Comstock's win against Bloomingdale wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Tyler Baker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Baker was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Kingston Price was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Brent Wyatt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Decatur entered their tilt with Hartford on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Huskies. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Decatur now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Comstock, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
