Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for La Feria

La Feria had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hidalgo Pirates a 15-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

La Feria pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hidalgo, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Feria will square off against Grulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hidalgo, they will be playing at home against Port Isabel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Isabel has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.88 runs per game on average), something Hidalgo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
