Softball Recap: Sky View Finds Playoff Glory Versus Dixie

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sky View had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Dixie Flyers by a score of 9-4. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Flyers back in March, they had to take a 9-6 loss.

Avaree Haramoto made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last 11 matchups. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Eliza Birman and Brylee Andrus did most of the damage at the plate: Birman went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Andrus went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Birman has posted over her last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Coleman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Sky View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sky View's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Dixie, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Sky View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flyers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
