If Salt Lake Academy was riding high fresh off their 30-7 takedown of Wasatch Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Salt Lake Academy Griffins were outmatched by the Monument Valley Cougars and fell 71-23. The Griffins' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Several Griffins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aisha Carreon, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Patrick, who put up eight points.

Salt Lake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monument Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Salt Lake Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grand County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monument Valley, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Tabiona at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
