Football Recap: Pisgah Comes Up Short

Pisgah had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-5 to make it four. They took a blow against the Union Yellowjackets, falling 35-6. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 37-13 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in November of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Pisgah still got an impressive performance from Tavorian Smith, who rushed for 106 yards on only 12 carries. Smith's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for Union, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinn Harris, who rushed for 151 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing yards Harris has posted since back in August. Myilan Moore was another key player, throwing for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.

Pisgah and Union are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Dragons will venture away from home to challenge Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Lions' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so Pisgah's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Union, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson Davis County at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.22 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
