Basketball Recap: Crawford County Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crawford County). They came out on top against Webster County by a score of 42-30 on Tuesday.

Crawford County found their leader in freshman Kamarli McGuire, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with six steals and five boards. With that strong performance, McGuire is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Ivey, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Crawford County's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Webster County, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crawford County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pike County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Webster County, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
