Basketball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Extends Winning Streak to Four

Franklin Road Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 46-35 victory over the Cedar View Christian Seahawks. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Seahawks are ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin Road Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gracie Tidwell out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Tidwell has been hot recently, having also posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Emma Dugger was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards.

Franklin Road Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Franklin Road Christian's victory bumped their record up to 32-5. As for Cedar View Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Franklin Road Christian will take on Mount Pisgah Christian Academy in a tournament on Saturday. One thing working in Mount Pisgah Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. Cedar View Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
