Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Comes Up Short

Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Mt. Pleasant Tigers 69-41. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 791st, while the Tigers are ranked 31st).

Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Jacksonville will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marshall at 2:30 p.m. on December 31st. As for Mt. Pleasant, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mt. Pleasant Tigers challenge the Princeton Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant is facing Princeton at the right time seeing as Princeton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
