Baseball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Beachwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 5-4. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

South has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Beachwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14.

Looking ahead, South will face off against North at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rebels are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Beachwood, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Wickliffe at 10:00 a.m. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
