League recap: Middlesex blown out by Washington & Lee

1A Conference 42 recap November 19, 2013

Middlesex fell to Washington & Lee 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Marques Holmes was a bright spot for the Chargers, as he threw for 41 yards and ran for 59 yards in the loss.

West Point led 1A Conference 42 in scoring this week by notching 28 points on West Point.

The Pointers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robert "Mikey" Anerton threw for 230 and 3 touchdowns and Edgar "L.A." Allen had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Adrian "A.J." Jones chipped in 71 yards. Chase Stewart helped West Point's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 82 yards.

Kaleb Wake was a key player and the best on defense this week as Middlesex fell to the Eagles. The 6-foot-2 senior recorded 2 fumbles.

He was 17-24 with 3 interceptions.

Anerton put up the best numbers through the air as West Point lost to McCluer. Anerton's favorite target this week was Allen, who caught 5 passes for 80 yards.

LC Briggs' team's Anerton and Stewart have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Anerton has thrown for 2,567 yards this season, while Stewart has 40 catches for 814 yards. Billy Jarvis' team's Holmes leads the league in rushing yards with 1,259.

The Pointers led the league in points allowed with 42.
