Baseball Recap: Calhan Takes a Loss

Calhan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the SkyView Academy Hawks.

Brock Burnside was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Toby Monger also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Calhan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-2. As for SkyView Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Calhan will venture away from home to face off against Elbert at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Elbert has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something Calhan will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for SkyView Academy, they will be playing at home against Bishop Machebeuf at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buffaloes will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
