Softball Recap: Jimtown Gets the Win

Jimtown owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings. The Jimmies were shut out 10-0 the last time they took on the Vikings, so the Jimmies were just returning the favor.

Claire Carlson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Abby Williams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Jimtown's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Jimtown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
