Soccer Game Preview: Greer Middle College vs. Providence

The Greer Middle College Blazers are taking a road trip to take on the Providence Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greer Middle College has four straight wins, Providence has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Greer Middle College is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Union County on Tuesday. Greer Middle College might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Providence fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Hammond on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyhawks.

Providence's goal came courtesy of Abigail Lanier, who's now up to two this season.

Greer Middle College pushed their record up to 6-3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those three games. As for Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
