Sacred Heart-Griffin won the last time they faced Jacksonville and things went their way on Friday too. The Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones took down the Jacksonville Crimsons 73-58. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Crimsons are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Crimsons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amaree Burries, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points and five boards. The contest was Burries' third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was LaMarion Williams, who went 5 for 7 en route to 15 points.

The win made it two in a row for Sacred Heart-Griffin and bumps their season record up to 13-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Jacksonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Coming up, Sacred Heart-Griffin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. As for Jacksonville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-61 defeat against Mt. Zion on the 8th.
