Basketball Recap: North Missouri HomeSchool Takes a Loss

North Missouri HomeSchool's tournament run continued when they took on Kansas City East Christian Academy on Thursday. The North Missouri HomeSchool Knights fell 63-55 to the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions.

Kansas City East Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Carrillo, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Carrillo has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryder Cartwright, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards.

North Missouri HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

North Missouri HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grundy County/Newtown-Harris at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-69 victory against Lighthouse Christian on the 13th.
