Jackson South Side takes loss despite strong efforts from Jaidynn Askins and Kimora Currie

Recap: Jackson South Side Hawks vs. Marist War Eagles
It was a good run, but the Jackson South Side Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marist. While losing is never fun, Jackson South Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 71st in Tennessee, while Marist is ranked 18th in Georgia).
Jackson South Side's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kimora Currie, who scored 12 points, and Jaidynn Askins who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Jackson South Side's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Marist, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Jackson South Side will be playing at home against Jackson Central Merry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marist will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Mount Pisgah Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
